🚀 Home Space Is Out Now on All Platforms!
It started with a phase. Our daughter got obsessed — astronauts, planets, the Moon, what's at the edge of the solar system, Pluto (she had feelings about Pluto). We'd be driving and she'd ask things like "is there a Mickey planet if there's a Pluto?" and "why does Uranus spin on its side?"
So we made her an album.
Home Space is 16 original songs that tour the entire solar system, from the Sun all the way out to the Oort Cloud — and we did it in the only style that felt right: pure 80s synth.
What's On It
Each track gives a different extraterrestrial object its own musical identity. Here's the full lineup:
- Here I Am (The Sun) — A big, anthemic song about the star at the center of our solar system. Four billion years old and still putting on a show.
- Mercury Rush — Upbeat and fast for the smallest, fastest planet. 88-day orbit, wild temperature swings, and no atmosphere.
- Venus is a Mystery — A slow-burning ballad for the hottest, weirdest planet. It spins backwards and its day is longer than its year.
- Earth, the Lucky One — An uplifting pop song about our home. Not too hot, not too cold — just right.
- Red Planet Boogie — A funky groove about Mars: Olympus Mons, dust storms, and two tiny moons.
- Asteroid Belt Party — Chaotic and fun, because millions of rocks between Mars and Jupiter deserve a party.
- Jupiter the King — Epic and massive, just like the biggest planet in the solar system.
- Saturn's Ring Thing — Smooth and gliding, for the most beautiful planet in the lineup.
- Uranus is Sideways — Wobbly and offbeat. Got knocked sideways by a giant impact billions of years ago and has been rolling that way ever since.
- Neptune Deep — Deep and dreamy. The farthest planet, the fastest winds, and possibly diamond rain.
- Proud Little Pluto — An underdog anthem. Not a planet anymore, but it has a heart of ice and five moons and it's doing just fine.
- Edge of the Solar System — Sparse and cold, for the Kuiper Belt and Oort Cloud at the very edge of everything.
- Dirty Snowball (Comet Song) — A driving, energetic song about the solar system's most dramatic visitors.
- Moon Patrol — A retro arcade roll call covering Europa, Io, Titan, Enceladus, Triton, and the 290+ moons across the solar system.
- Satellite Signal — Crisp and precise, about Sputnik, the ISS, GPS, and the 8,000+ satellites now orbiting Earth.
- Our Moon — Warm and heartfelt. Our Moon has been with us since the very beginning.
Why 80s Synth?
Honestly? We just love it. There's something about 80s synth music that has this sense of wonder and optimism built in — it feels like the future was supposed to be exciting. Space feels that way too, especially to a kid hearing about it for the first time.
We wanted music that didn't talk down to kids. Every song has real science in it — actual distances, temperatures, moon names, orbital periods — but set to music that moves. The goal was songs a kid actually wants to hear again, and that parents don't dread on repeat.
We think we got there.
